Welcome to RubyConf Las Vegas!

Our designer, Valenzia Cina, started by researching the Las Vegas area for local inspiration and discovered that the traditional textiles of the region are built from modular, geometric patterns that repeat and interlock with quiet precision. That visual language sparked an unexpected connection to bitmap art, and from there, an idea took shape.

The result is the Desert Paintbrush, Nevada's wildflower, rendered in a pixelated geometric style that bridges two worlds: the artistry of the region's Indigenous textile traditions and the technical, software-driven culture that defines modern Las Vegas.

The Desert Paintbrush is also a quiet collaborator. It weaves its roots into nearby plants, forming underground partnerships to bloom so brilliantly. A reminder that even the most vivid among us rely on connection and community to thrive.

The design plays a visual trick too: up close it reads as an abstract arrangement of geometric shapes. Step back, and a flower emerges in full clarity. Art that rewards a second look.
